This weekend Marvel Studios introduced The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, one of their new series for the Disney streaming platform that will focus on the adventures of Steve Rogers’ best friends: Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes.
But although the company did not reveal any official look at that project during the San Diego Comic-Con 2019, this Tuesday Daniel Brühl has released the first photos of the production, which are starring the formidable, cunning and evil Baron Zemo.
Through his Instagram account, the actor who debuted on the MCU during Captain America: Civil War shared two photos that anticipate the appearance of Zemo in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. “Longing, Rusted, Seventeen, Daybreak, Furnace, Nine, Benign, Homecoming, One, Freight Car. Zemo is getting ready,” he posted.
Thus, the first photo revealed by Brühl shows Zemo with his new mustache and beard, with a look that indicates that he is not planning anything good for the heroes.
Daniel Brühl debuted as Zemo in Captain America: Civil War, where he was introduced as one of Steve Rogers’ most crucial enemies in the comics. He played a Sokovia soldier who undertook a mission to destroy the Avengers after his family died in the battle that took place in that country in the Avengers: Age of Ultron movie.
At the end of Civil War, Zemo completed his mission which involved antagonizing Tony Stark and Steve Rogers. However, after Black Panther prevented his suicide, he was taken prisoner for his crimes by Everett Ross.
In that sense, the new series for the streaming platform from Disney will have to address how the character managed to free himself from that prison, in addition to telling what he has been doing during the last years.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will be released in 2020.
