Those responsible for the Fast and Furious saga, whose economic success depends on Chinese audiences, decided to make a very fast decision.
The ninth film, which they planned to release next May, will now hit theaters a year later because of concerns about the coronavirus and the impact it is having on the film industry due to the large number of closed cinemas.
The previous film in the saga, The Fate of the Furious, grossed over $ 1.2 billion. In China alone, it made $ 392 million, while in Italy it raised $ 16 million. And both countries are the most affected by the outbreak.
The film, which was scheduled to hit theaters in in May, will now arrive in April 2021. Its revenue depends on the international market.
