Thirty years ago director Joe Johnston premiered ‘Honey I Shrunk The Kids’, with Rick Moranis and Marcia Strassman as the protagonists. A feature film that became an instant classic for a whole generation. And since it has been quite some time, Disney has decided to make a “reboot / sequel” of the original, according to Slashfilm.

The concept it will follow is a little foreign, because this film will have a similar plot as the first one, however it will take place in a different time line.

This new feature film will take place thirty years later. In it we will see Josh Gad in the role of Wayne Szalinski’s son. A scientist just like his father, who will accidentally shrink his children. The project is searching for a director and still has no tentative release date. However, Disney seems to have a lot of faith in this new movie, given that instead of being released through Disney+, it will be heading directly to the big screen.
