Gina Carano, who played Cara Dune in The Mandalorian, will not return to be part of the Disney+ television series, after sharing a post on social networks that infers that being a Republican today is like being a Jew during the Holocaust in WWII.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, a spokesman said Gina Carano is no longer an employee of Lucasfilm, Star Wars producer, so any plans they had for her in the future of the series have been canceled.

“Gina Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm and there are no plans for her to be in the future. Nevertheless, her social media posts denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are abhorrent and unacceptable.” stated one Lucasfilm spokesperson

The actress was a trend on social networks, after a post on Instagram that she later deleted, in which she alluded to religious comments, therefore, as has happened in the past, users of social networks asked that she be fired from the successful Disney+ show.

In previous days, the actress drew attention to a somewhat controversial comment, as she mentioned that, “Jews were beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers but by their neighbors…. even by children,” Carano posted on one of her social media accounts. “Because history is edited, most people today don’t realize that to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily round up thousands of Jews, the government first made their own neighbors hate them simply for being Jews. How is that any different from hating someone for their political views?”, which infuriated a large number of people. Also, the hashtag #FireGinaCarano was created and became a trend, but even though the post was deleted, many shared a screenshot of the publication.

THR also related that, “They have been looking for a reason to fire her for two months, and today was the last straw,” this coming from one of their sources.

Thanks to her work as Cara Dune in the first two seasons of ‘The Mandalorian’, it was intended that the actress would star in the series ‘Rangers of the New Republic’, which was already being worked on, it will now have to go on without the presence of this character.
