A day like today marks a year since the disappearance of the boy who ended up becoming Jonas’s father and the suicide of ‘Michael’.
Dark, the hit Netflix series, ended five months ago and many still have their own theories about the end of the story. This is proof of the impact it had on everyone who embarked on this time traveling adventure.
With a total of three seasons, fans have several favorite moments. Some stand out for their complexity, the revelation they entail or their importance in the development of the plot. The case of Mikkel Nielsen‘s disappearance in the forest falls into the latter category.
This November 4 marks one year since this event triggered a series of events that affected the past, present and future in an unsuspected way.
As we saw in the series, Mikkel goes with his brothers to the Winden caves, where he disappears and awakens in the past: 1986. What is not revealed until the second season is that Jonas, his son from the future, plotted this because he was’ predestined’.
At that time, the boy is adopted by Ines Kahnwald, who medicates him because she does not believe that he comes from another era. Years later, he married Hannah Kahnwald and became Jonas’s father.
The same day of his disappearance, his adult version commits suicide in the future believing that this was his role in the story. This occurs minutes after Jonas had a revealing conversation with him to prevent him from taking his own life.
