Coming to America was one of the key projects in Eddie Murphy’s career. Just over 30 years after the original film, the comedian finally returns for a sequel, which has just released its first official teaser trailer.
Subsequently, Prince Akeem returns to New York after many years, now as king of the fictional Zamunda, a thriving African nation. He needs to find young Lavelle, Jermaine Fowler, an heir he never knew he had.
In addition to Murphy, big names from the original feature are returning, such as James Earl Jones, John Amos, Shari Headley, Louis Anderson and Vanessa Bell Calloway. Craig Brewer, who directed the first film, also came back as director.
Coming 2 America debuts on March 5 on Amazon Prime Video.
