“I just want to be home now.” This is how pronounced Chris Hemsworth has announced to leave Hollywood to spend more time with his wife, Elsa Pataky, and their three children. One of the most famous actors in the film industry – recently starred in the superhero film Avengers: Endgame – has decided to leave the show business for the rest of the year after 12 months of consecutive shooting. According to the specialized media The Daily Telegraph, the actor won 15 million dollars for his work in The Avengers: Infinity War, the penultimate installment of the Marvel Universe saga. He appears in all four installments.
The 35-year-old actor, who plays Thor in the franchise, wants to spend more time at home in Byron Bay, a coastal city in northern New South Wales, Australia. This is where his family has lived for five years and where they are building a spectacular house. “This year I probably won’t shoot anything. I just want to be at home now with my kids,” he said. He also stated that: “They are at a very important age. They are still young and they are aware when I leave more than before.”
The average combined fortune of the three Hemsworth brothers is between 60 and 90 million dollars. Meanwhile, he continues to cultivate his influence as a health advisor and athlete who wants to lead a life as normal as possible. He clearly stated in an interview he gave last year to the magazine GQ Australia: he is especially concerned that his children can not have a normal childhood because they are leading a privileged life. This was one of the reasons why the couple left Hollywood and went to live in Byron Bay. That’s where their new home is being built, which has received many criticisms because, at the moment, it seems to be anything but a home. They have come to compare it with a shopping center or a small airport, not to mention that it has worked up the neighbor’s suspicions.
Chris Hemsworth has always shown himself to be a very unselfish man: “My kids now are all in school and we’re planted in Australia and it’s getting harder to leave.” He has affirmed that “If you went back 10 years and asked me what would be my dream scenario, this is kind of it. I can now sit back, enjoy and appreciate it, and stop chasing [movies].” The only thing he’ll have going on that is work related is a few things here and there: “I have this year where I’m probably not going to shoot anything. I have a press tour, a few endorsements and bits, and pieces, but mostly just be home.” I guess you can say that he will now have every “Thorsday” off to spend with his family.
