Activision Blizzard announced today the newest franchise of the game Call of Duty, which will also be available for next generation consoles: it is Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, direct sequel to Call of Duty: Black Ops.

Set in the 1980s, the game will position players at the time of the Cold War, where they will fight in iconic locations like East Berlin, Turkey, Vietnam, and Soviet Moscow, meeting real historical figures along the way. As an elite soldier, your mission will be to prevent a major conspiracy that has been decades in the making. At the same time, you must follow the trail of the mysterious Perseus, whose aim is to destabilize the balance of the world order and change history.

As expected, a whole new arsenal will be available, with weapons from the time when the game takes place. The game will also have cross-play support between the current and the next generation of consoles, with progression shared across all modes.

It has been promised that new options in the character creation mode will directly impact the gameplay, and that each mission will bring more freedom of exploration, more dialogue options and the famous side quests. In addition, the traditional Zombie Mode is also confirmed.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War comes out on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on November 13, with versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X coming out at a later date.
