Anyone who has played the Joker is affected in some strange way and often in a negative way, as is in the case of the recent Golden Globe winner. Best actor, Joaquin Phoenix was arrested, but it may not be for the reasons you are thinking.
In October 2019, a low-budget film who no one believed in was released. But when it was released it possessed such high level that movie lovers cramed the theater and made ‘Joker’ over a billion dollars in total earnings.
Although Joaquin Phoenix was arrested, it was not because it had anything to do with the ‘Joker’ or because the actor has gone as insane as his character. The actor was in Washington DC along with Jane Fonda and a considerable number of protesters, who were voicing their concerns about climate change.

As it has happened before to Fonda, both were taken by the police, but in a quite peaceful way, as you can see in the video that a fan from the actor uploaded on Twitter.

Actors like Ted Danson, Rosanna Arquette, Sally Field and Sam Waterston have also joined Fonda in this protest and all of them have been arrested as well. But the fact that Phoenix has placed himself in these types of situations does not surprise any follower of the actor, who has repeatedly expressed himself in favor of animal rights, to the point where he has decided to become a vegan for several years.
