Batman: Death in the Family is one of the most striking arcs in the history of the Bat comics. Published between 1988 and 1989, the story shows the death of Jason Todd, the second Robin, at the hands of the Joker, with Batman being unable to save his pupil from a tragic end. Now, this story arrives in an interactive animated film, which has just released its trailer.
Jason’s death is not the only reason the story is still remembered. At the time of its release, the public could choose Robin’s fate through a telephone voting system, and most voted for the character’s death, however, he later returned as the vengeful Red Hood. Now, the fate of the character will once again be in the hands of the fans.
DC announced the animated adaptation of Batman: Death in the Family, it is an interactive short film, where the viewer will decide the direction of the story, such as the death of Jason Todd, for example.
The trailer shows several possible ramifications for the story, such as Jason returning to Gotham full of bandages on his face, or under the identity of Red Hood. But whether these things really happen will depend on you.
Batman: A Death in the Family will be available on Blu-Ray and digital format sometime in 2020.
