A shark challenges hippos bathing and almost gets itself chomped in half. The predator was at a disadvantage and had to flee the area amongst an enraged crowd.
A fight between a herd of hippos and a shark is visible on a video that has gone viral.
We see a family of hippos resting in the water, when a shark appears close to them. The mammals start to get angry and then attack the intruder. You can see the shark trying to sneak in a bite here and there, however this group of large animals are too cunning for him.
“While we were on a hippo and crocodile safari, we spotted a small bull shark swimming close to a pod of hippos. We stopped the boat along the bank, so we could watch hippos return to the waterl. Since hippos defecate in the water, this draws a lot of fish. If there are a lot of fish, it grabs the attention of the nearby sharks looking for a quick meal.”
Luckily for the shark, he was much faster than the hippos and managed to escape before sustaining serious damage.
