The Transformers series from Michael Bay refuses to die. And although some rumors suggested that Bumblebee would have been a silent restart of the franchise, apparently the explosive-laden movies will continue, at least for one more installment.

While the yellow beetle movie will have a sequel, Lorenzo Di Bonaventura, producer of the franchise, revealed that there are plans to continue the Transformers: The Last Knight story.

“We are already working on two projects and are in the process of writing a script,” Di Bonaventura told Cinema (via Heroic Hollywood).  “One is the latest in the main family series following the events of Transformers: The Last Knight and the other is a sequel to Bumblebee.

Di Bonaventura did not provide specific details about the development of these projects but did indicate that the relationship between Optimus Prime and Bumblebee will be an important part of both installments.

“So, we are thinking of films where Optimus Prime and Bumblebee will be the buddies, but when Optimus and Bumblebee are the movies of the protagonists … how human beings get involved in their drama” commented the producer.
“In the first place, the size is different between human beings and theirs…. It’s a worrying point (laughs).”

At the moment there is no release date for the sequel to The Last Knight and it is not clear if Michael Bay will have any involvement in the project. It is also unknown if the cast of the 2017 film will return for the continuation of the story.
