It has been over a week since fans have witnessed the ending of WandaVision, but the debates over the series are not over yet. With a lot of expectations generated and grandiose theories emerging on the internet, there were several grievances with the last episode, mainly due to the absence of major upheavals and certain heroes and villains that had been expected to show up, but did not.

One of these heroes was Doctor Strange, as WandaVision scenes had always been said to link directly to the hero’s second film, many theorized that Stephen Strange would appear at the end to give the Scarlet Witch a helping hand, but that was not the case. In an interview to the YouTube channel of Jake Hamilton, the star, Benedict Cumberbatch apologized to fans:

“I’m sorry to disappoint you. I don’t know, yeah. I mean, that would’ve been fun I guess. It would’ve let into (Elizabeth Olsen’s) involvement with (Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness”) but, ah hell, you know. That’s all to come. We’re in the middle of it now, we’ve been filming since before Christmas, and it’s very exciting.”

We know that the events of WandaVision, especially the conclusion where Wanda accepts her role as the Scarlet Witch and takes the book, Darkhold for herself, will be crucial for the development of the second film of the Supreme Wizard. Elizabeth Olsen has already been confirmed in the film, but we still don’t know if she will be an apprentice and ally of Strange, or if she will be an antagonist, perhaps due to all of the sinister knowledge she now has.

WandaVision is available on Disney + . Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is slated to hit theaters in March 2022.
