The future of DC in film and television continues to be molded, and one of the filmmakers who plans to collaborate with projects such as Justice League Dark is JJ Abrams, who is now reported to be working on, and in charge of directing the next solo Superman film.
With the return of Henry Cavill as the Man of Steel interpreter, there are talks that JJ Abrams will be tasked with bringing a new solo Superman movie to the big screen.
Film critic John Campea assured on his Inside the Magic YouTube channel that one of the agreements between Warner Bros and JJ Abrams’ company, Bad Robot, which signed a multi-year contract with the Burbank studio, is to develop a feature film of the Last Son of Krypton.
Now, another report has been disclosed by informant Grace Randolph who relates that J.J. Abrams has met with writers to discuss the new Superman movie. The feature could be a complete solo story or a continuation of Man Of Steel, something fans have been waiting to see for a long time. Although with Abrams a the helm of this project, many DC enthusiasts are worried since the director fell flat with the Star Wars sequels, a situation they do not want to transpire with the beloved Kryptonian.
A few months back, the information emerged that Henry Cavill and Warner Bros executives resumed negotiations for the British actor to play Superman again, although his return would initially be through a cameo in Black Adam, Shazam! 2 or Aquaman 2.
At the moment, we simply have to wait for the official news from Warner Bros concerning this project. With Snyder’s Justice League on the horizon, fans are excited to hear what the company has planned for the future of The Last Son of Krypton.
