Disney Plus did it. The premiere of The Mandalorian season 2 finale caused Star Wars fans to reconnect once again with the universe created by George Lucas.

The second season of The Mandalorian ended in the most unexpected way possible, but also, left us with many more questions than answers. The Mandalorian is undoubtedly the breath of fresh air that Star Wars needed.

In addition to the uncertainties raised by The Mandalorian 2, a critical issue has been raised, will Kylo Ren take Grogu’s life later in the story? After all, the lovable Baby Yoda does not appear in the Star Wars sequel trilogy.

The Mandalorian 2 concluded with the exciting reveal of Luke Skywalker saving Mando, and company along with Grogu, to take with him and train in the Jedi way, perhaps to the Jedi temple. Luke also trained Ben Solo, the son of Leia and Han Solo, as revealed in The Rise of Skywalker, before turning to the dark side, becoming Kylo Ren.

In The Rise of Skywalker they explain that Kylo destroyed the Temple, after misinterpreting Lukes’s actions, believing he tried to kill him, fearing that Ben would fall to the dark side, which inevitably happened. During the altercation, Luke was buried under the rubble of his temple, and all of his apprentices lost their lives. However, in the official canon of the Star Wars saga, Kylo did not murder any of Luke’s Padawans.

While the last Star Wars movie of the trilogy led us to believe Kylo Ren had been the murderer of many Jedi trainees, in the original canon the opposite happened. In the comics, Ben was not the desecrator of the temple, but a dark entity, and even Kylo himself tried to prevent it.

Now the question is: did Baby Yoda manage to survive the fall of Luke Skywalker’s Jedi temple? One theory explains that Grogu, has already returned with Mando before the destruction of the temple, and another, that Ahsoka Tano herself had gone to the academy for him.

The third season of The Mandalorian will premiere on December 25, 2021.
