Lilo & Stitch, the famous Disney cartoon, is getting a live-action movie and filmmaker Jon M. Chu, in charge of Crazy Rich Asians and G.I. Joe Retaliation, may be the director of production. The information is was published by The Hollywood Reporter.

The original film, released in 2002, is set in Hawaii, and tells the story of the friendship between a girl named Lilo and the alien Stitch, which she adopts as a dog. The appreciation from the fans for the animations has added to the campaign for the live-action remakes from Disney in recent years. This has also prompted Chu to begin with the negotiations for the realization of the feature.
