A dedicated Marvel fan decided to reimagine what MCU actors would look like if they were in the next game of the franchise, Marvel’s Avengers. For that, he used deepfake technology to add the faces of the stars from the films to the characters in the game.

For those unfamiliar, deepfake uses artificial intelligence to create incredibly realistic fake videos, where you can get people doing and saying things they haven’t been in before. The technique has been the subject of debate since videos promoting fake news about public people began to appear, but it has also resulted in funny entertainment videos.

For this case, the use of deepfake is for a cool and fun reason. YouTube user BabyZone put the faces of Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson and Mark Ruffalo in the shoes of the playable versions of their characters.

Marvel’s Avengers arrives next Friday, September 4th, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Google Stadia and PC.
