Barely reopened after confinement, the Warsaw Zoo had its first accident. A 23-year-old man fell into the bear enclosure where he tried to drown the animal, reports Radio Zet. At the time of the incident, the troublemaker was drunk.

The sequence shows a man in the bear enclosure gripping the animal. According to the Warsaw Zoo administration, the fire rescue operation for the man was carried out using a basket lift. The individual was then taken to the hospital with just a few scratches.

According to the zoo spokesperson quoted by Radio Zet, the intruder was lucky that at the time of the accident only one bear was present in the enclosure, “otherwise the man would have been much less likely to survive this event without significant injuryā€¯ .

She also explained that this bear is an old female, given her past in a circus, is used to people’s attention. However, the beast was shocked by the behavior of this unexpected visitor.
