Extraction, from Netflix, is an action film starring Chris Hemsworth (Thor interpreter in Marvel), it keeps you at the edge of your seat. Directed by Sam Hargrave, the film benefits from the director’s experience with death-defying acrobatics and offers an exciting experience for the audience.

With one obstruction after another in the path of the protagonist, the story takes several twists. In the end, when everything seems to be calm and the dust has settled, the film leaves us on the edge of a precipice.

Tyler Rake is a mercenary who is hired to save the son of an Indian gangster from the clutches of a Bangladeshi drug dealer. A lot of money is promised in return, but in the middle of the job, Rake realizes that something is erroneous about this plan.

Soon, the boy becomes more than just a package he is tasked with delivering. As a result, the stakes are higher.

When Tyler realizes that leaving the city alone is not going to work, he looks to Saju for help. Previously, he believed that Saju had betrayed Ovi Mahajan Sr. and would hand over his son to Asif.

Later, it comes to light that Saju really had the boy’s best interests. He deceived Tyler’s squadron because he didn’t have enough money to pay for the reprieve.

He planned to rescue Ovi fromTyler, and after that, kill Tyler and recover Ovi.

With Gaspar out of the picture, Tyler can’t trust anyone else in Dhaka. He calls Saju and they make a plan to keep Ovi safe.

The only thing between them and freedom is the bridge that connects the city to the world beyond Asif’s reach. If they cross that, they’ll be safe.

The Ending

In its final scene, the film takes care of some loose ends, while opening the possibility of a sequel. After his rescue, we find Ovi back in Mumbai, resuming his school life, albeit with much more disinterest.

Woven with this are the sequences in Dhaka. Asif returns to business, apparently having accepted his defeat.

But out of nowhere Rik comes and shoots him in the head. And then we see Ovi jumping into the pool, just as Tyler jumped off the cliff at the beginning of the film.

When he comes out of the water, we see a figure standing in the distance from the pool, the outline making it look like it’s Tyler.

Is it really him? If so, then how did he survive the fatal wounds on the bridge?

One of the most crucial points to remember when considering a character’s death is his dead body. In the movie, while chasing Tyler and Ovi, the henchmen think they may have perished in an explosion.

But Asif is not convinced because he has not seen their bodies. The film remembers showing the death of all the characters to confirm.

Be it Gaspar’s team, Saju or Tyler, everyone’s death is substantiated with the final shots of their faces.

To emphasize this, the film shows Rik killing Asif, and the camera remains with them until Rik is sure that his target is dead and moves away. However, none of this realized for Tyler.

Being the tough guy he is, Tyler must have survived his wounds and found his way back. Previously, he had nothing to lose and had given up on life..

He was affected by the pain and guilt of his son’s death, and was entangling himself in circumstances that would implicate his death. However, with Ovi, he finds that connection and purpose once again, which means that his desire to die has been rescinded.

He has a reason to live, and it might be strong enough to break him free from the clutches of death.

Furthermore, after Saju’s death, Ovi will need someone to look after him, especially with his father still in prison. Who better than Tyler for the job?
