Joaquin Phoenix was the big favorite to win the Oscar for his role in ‘Joker’. Many said the actor was the clear winner, and they were right.

At 45, Joaquin Phoenix won the Oscar for best actor, a category he has been nominated for three times before, his superlative, huge work, praised by critics and audiences in the role of the Joker, a character that forced him, among other things, to lose 50 pounds. Phoenix portrayed a sick man ignored by the society as he aspires to become a great comedian, which in turn leads him to become the villain clown with the eternal painted smile and number one enemy of Batman.

Todd Phillips, director of the film, managed to get the best out of Phoenix and people loved his performance. Six months went into preparation before filming actually began.
