ALF returns to television. We do not know what it will consist of at this time nor if it will maintain the eighties essence of the original series, but Warner Bros. is considering a remake of the series. This will bring joy to all of those who grew up with the famous alien. It was, at least confirmed by TVLine, although the details are rather scarce, there are plans in the development division but we do not have a direct confirmation of the exact date Alf will return.
What we do know: first it seems that ALF will return with a new family obviously, so it appears as if it will not be a continuation of the original, rather a remake in which we may see some flashbacks of the series from the 80’s or even some cameos from some of original actors, but it will be a completely new series as far as the conceptualization is concerned.
Another interesting detail is that, according to The Hollywood Reporter, the original creators of ALF, Tom Patchett and Paul Fusco, are involved in the process of creating the new series, but it is not clear if they will have a definitive role in the series or if their preliminary ideas will maintain the essence of the original.
At the moment it is unknown when it will return to TV, but everything seems to indicate that ALF is definitively a go. Their main targeted audience are the fans who grew up loving the show and are now parents. Their children are soon to fall in love with Alf as well.
