It’s easy to forget that Blake Lively starred in the much-criticized (especially by Ryan Reynolds) DC Comics movie about ‘Green Lantern’ with her husband, Ryan Reynolds. But, while her husband has been redeemed thanks to his role as ‘Deadpool’ the franchise 20th Century Fox (now a part of Disney along with 21 other characters), Blake Lively has stayed away from the superhero genre. And maybe that distance will be cut soon thanks to ‘Birds of Prey’ and a possible role as Black Canary? We can only hope that the wheels turn in this direction.

The pictures that have arisen of Blake Lively as the Black Canary from ‘Birds of Prey’ come from a “fan art” created by @BossLogic. Blake Lively sounds like a great idea to play the Black Canary for the upcoming DC Comics movie, Harley Quinn’s spin-off after the success of the female character played by Margot Robbie (‘The Wolf of Wall Street’, ‘I, Tonya ‘) in ‘Suicide Squad.’

And here she is with the mask on.

Imagine the kind of drama this would cause, not only amongst the fans, but also between Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively’s relationship. One being in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the other in the DC Comics Cinematic Universe, respectively. The couple like to display a sort of debacle on Twitter that keeps us fans laughing and wanting more. Having Blake Lively on the DC side would make things a lot more interesting.

The film ‘Birds of Prey’ is scheduled to begin shooting later this year or early 2019. At the moment, it is unknown who the leading actresses will be except for the aforementioned of Margot Robbie who will resume her role as Harley Quinn in the big screen. Recently, we learned that the studio is negotiating with Alexandra Daddario (‘San Andreas’, ‘Baywatch’) to give life to Helena Bertinelli/Huntress. However, nothing is confirmed yet and it does not look like anything will be anytime soon.
