The official trailer from the third season of the Netflix “Stranger Things” series has already been released and of course, the anticipation about the story has given fans much to talk about in social networks.
Like all trailers, it is just a small synopsis of what we will see in the third season, but these are the details that we can be certain of so far:
- It is going to take place in 1985.
- It begins on July 4 of that year. The same day that the season will be released!
- They are no longer children: as one of the characters in the trailer expresses, the Hawkins boys have grown up and their adventures will be altered.
- Dustin is returning from what appears to be a summer camp as noted by the shirt he is wearing.
- The rest of the gang, Mike (Finn Wolfhard), Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin), Will (Noah Schnapp) and Max (Sadie Sink) end up with a surprising welcome.
- Dustin apparently followed Steve’s hair advice. The spray with which he attacks Lucas when he is startled by the surprise party is a Farrah Fawcett hair product that Steve recommended to him last season. And their friendship seems to be stronger than ever. They even have a special handshake:
- Max and Eleven are friends. In several scenes of the trailer, you can see them listening to music, traveling together, in the mall and more.
- The Romance of Mike and Eleven continues.
- And the rats? In one of the scenes, you see many rats running towards the same place. “It’s almost feeding time,” was the title on one of the tweets Netflix launched days before the trailer. The truth is that we do not have much information about what this has to do with anything.

- The Upside Down: In some of the most dramatic parts towards the end of the trailer is a monster that seems to come from The Upside Down. Or could it possibly be the Demogorgon? And in addition, there was a person dressed in the costumes that have been used in previous seasons to access this dark place.
- Billy, Max’s stepbrother, reappears this season. Apparently, he has a summer job as a lifeguard in the Hawkins pool. Surprisingly, he could be one of the victims from the monster, because in a snippet we can see him under the shower looking at his arm with a mark that we have seen before.
- Steve also has a job at a fast food restaurant. There we meet a new character, Robin.
- Nancy and Jonathan appear in the Hawkins Post newspaper building, do they work there?
- Hoppers is seen telling someone (Eleven? Joyce, Will’s mom?) That he wants them to feel safe, that this is their home.
And indeed, “One summer can change everything.”
