After many leaked images of the film, Lionsgate has finally released the first trailer for ‘Chaos Walking’, the upcoming film starring Tom Holland and Daisy Ridley.

The production is based on the young adult novel ‘The Knife of Never Letting Go’ by Patrick Ness, and since 2011, Lionsgate had purchased the rights to make an adaptation in hopes of replicating the success of ‘The Hunger Games’ and’ The Twilight Saga ‘.

Now we can enjoy the trailer of this film that like many productions has suffered delays due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The first trailer for ‘Chaos Walking’ shows much of the plot, in which two unlikely companions, Ridley and Holland, embark on a dangerous journey through the lowlands of an unexplored planet while trying to escape a dangerous and disorienting reality, where all inner thoughts are seen and heard by all.

In addition to Tom Holland and Daisy Ridley, the rest of the cast include Mads Mikkelsen, Cynthia Erivo, Nick Jonas, Ray McKinnon, Kurt Sutter, and David Oyelowo.

“Chaos Walking ” was directed by Doug Liman, with Patrick Ness and Christopher Ford as the authors of the script. Principal photography for the film was shot from August to November 2017, but after a disastrous test screening they halted the project, and the film underwent a series of re-shoots in 2018.

The film’s re-recordings finally took place but were delayed by the protagonists’ busy schedules, Holland filming ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ for most of 2018 and Daisy Ridley working on ‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’ in the same period.

The additional scenes for the film finally took place in early 2019, just before the premiere of ‘Avengers: Endgame’.

After long delays, Lionsgate scheduled the film for January 22, 2021 earlier this year, but given the current pandemic it is unknown when the release date of ‘Chaos Walking’ will be.
