Hamako Mori is not you average elderly woman. This 90-year-old Japanese woman has just been recognized by the Guinness Book of Records as the oldest gaming YouTuber in the world.

Hamaoko Mori discovered the world of video games 39 years ago now, watching children play. Here is what she says about her discovery with the video game world: “It seemed so fun, I told myself that it was not fair that only children play it.” She also said that her first console was an Epoch Cassette Vision, in 1981.

From a simple hobby, video games have become for this grandma a real passion, which keep her busy. So much so that Hamako created his own YouTube channel, Gamer Grandma, and already has more than 250,000 subscribers. Nothing scares her. Call of Duty Modern Warfare, Resident Evil 3, Final Fantasy VII – Remake, Hamako plays everything, to the amusement of her fans. Her favorite game? Grand Theft Auto V. She will confide about this favorite : “It’s like watching a movie. It’s my favorite game because there is a minimum age required, so children cannot play it.” This video gamer, who has posted 3 to 4 videos per month in last five years, says that gaming is a way for her to rejuvenate her mind.
