When Netflix announced the members of the second season of The Witcher, an important name was not listed: Vesemir.

The Witcher who took care of Geralt is one of the most important characters in the books that did not appear completely in the first season and was only seen briefly in a flashback. Many fans were worried that Vesemir would not be part of the second cycle of the series, however, Netflix did not take long to destroy those uncertainties.

Following the announcement of most of the new cast members, now the streaming platform has revealed that Kim Bodnia (Killing Eve) will play Vesemir in the second season of The Witcher.

Of course, there were a lot of people who wanted to see Mark Hamill in the role, however, as that did not happen, Bodnia will have the mission of conquering those fans since Vesemir will not only be a fundamental part of the series’s new season, but will also be the focus of the animated series The Witcher: Nighmare of the Wolf. At this moment it is unknown if the actor will also play the character in that project.

“I am so thrilled to welcome Kim Bodnia to the cast of ‘The Witcher. I have admired his unique talents in shows like ‘Killing Eve’ and ‘The Bridge,’ and cannot wait for him to bring strength, tenacity, and warmth to the character of Vesemir, who is such an integral part of our upcoming season.” the showrunner, Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, from The Witcher commented to Variety.
