After sharing some images and the first poster the previous week, Netflix took advantage of the San Diego Comic-Con 2019 to release the first trailer of The Witcher, the series based on Andrzej Sapkowski’s books and the videogame saga from CD Projekt Red, and of course, it is starring Geralt de Rivia, a character that will be played by Henry Cavill.
In the trailer you can see other characters of great importance such as Princess Ciri (Freya Allan) and Yennefer de Vengerberg (Anya Cholatra). While the series will take some elements from video games, the producers have made it clear that the content is based mainly on the written work from Sapkowski . “The games were in one direction and we are going in another. We are still not going to reveal what we are doing for the first season,” Lauren Schmidt Hissrich (showrunner) told Entertainment Weekly .
