In these days it seems that everyone who owns a Netflix account can’t stop talking about the new Sandra Bullock movie, ‘Bird Box.’ And the question that everyone is asking has an unexpected answer to it.
The director of ‘Bird Box‘, Susanne Bier, has revealed why the terrifying creatures never made it onto the main footage of the movie.
In an interview , filmmaker and screenwriter Eric Heisserer acknowledged that producers came to pressure them to teach them about what all humans fear at some point or another.
“They forced me to basically write a nightmare sequence where Malorie [Bullock] was facing one (of the creatures) in the house.”
The scene was filmed, but Sandra Bullock herself admitted that she could not help but laugh because everything was very ridiculous, since the monster was portrayed by “a green man with a horrible baby face”.
“At first, Sandy did not want to see it before shooting, because she thought it was scary, then it was more like, ‘Do not show it to me because I can not help but laugh.‘ Every time we tried.”
It seems that finally they were able to convince the team that it was best to leave the appearance (and terror) of the monsters to the imagination of the audience.
The science fiction movie has broken records, becoming the Netflix original production with the most views during the first week, since its premiere on December 21. Through a tweet, the official Netflix account announced the success of the film: “We removed the blindfold this morning to discover that 45,037,125 accounts have already seen ‘ Bird box.’ The best first 7 days for any original Netflix movie “
