After the great success of ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ in 2015, a sequel was pursued, which never solidified, but more stories about this post-apocalyptic world were not ruled out, transpiring in an origin story of Furiosa. Now it has been revealed that Anya Taylor-Joy will star in the character’s spin-off ‘Furiosa’ and Chris Hemsworth and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II will also join the production.
The movie ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ was a big surprise, considering the ‘Mad Max’ franchise had not had a project for several years and this version explored a different edition of this post apocalyptic world, which was well received by the audience and critics, having ten Oscar nominations, winning six, including Best Makeup and Best Costume Design.
According to information revealed by the same director George Miller, Anya Taylor-Joy will star in ‘Furiosa’ giving life to a younger version of the character played by Charlize Theron. Seems like a fairly thought out cast, since we recently saw this actress in ‘The New Mutants ‘ in the role of Magik, she will also star in other major productions that are on the way.
In addition to this cast, it was announced that Chris Hemsworth and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II are joining the cast and George Miller will return to the directors seat. Nico Lathouris will also be returning to writing the script as he did in ‘Mad Max: Fury Road ‘, so it will not be surprising if they seek to repeat the style and success of the past film.
