Marvel Studios presented a new synopsis of The Eternals, which will be their second film this year.
Although its history will extend for thousands of years, even before the rise of humanity, the new synopsis reveals that its main storyline will take place after the events of Avengers: Endgame.
At the same time, it seems that Neil Gaiman’s stories for the characters could serve as a basis for this story, since they will probably reappear after being inactive for thousands of years.

And that gives room to believe that Sprite, one of the team’s characters, will have the same role he had in Gaiman’s story: someone who was key to The Eternals passing unnoticed for millennia. Something that would just explain his absences so far in the MCU.
Read the synopsis below.
“Marvel Studios’ The Eternals features an exciting new team of Super Heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, ancient aliens who have been living on Earth in secret for thousands of years. Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, an unexpected tragedy forces them out of the shadows to reunite against mankind’s most ancient enemy, The Deviants.”
The cast will include Richard Madden as the almighty Ikaris, Gemma Chan as Sersi, lover of humanity, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, Brian Tyree Henry as the intelligent inventor Phastos, Salma Hayak as the wise and spiritual leader Ajak, Lia McHugh as the eternally young and old Sprite, Don Lee as the powerful Gilgamesh, Barry Keoghan as the distant Druig and Angelina Jolie as the fierce warrior Thena. Kit Harrington, meanwhile, will bring Dane Whitman, better known as Black Knight, to life.
Directed by Chloe Zhao (The Rider), The Eternals will arrive at the cinema on November 6, 2020 in the United States.
