1.- Michael J. Fox was not plan “A”

Michael J. Fox was not Robert Zemeckis’ plan for the role of Marty McFly. Charlie Sheen and Erick Stoltz were once contemplated, but in the end, Fox’s sympathetic acting stole the role and made it what it is now.

2.- “Frodo” was part of the saga

Elijah Wood, who played Frodo in “The Lord of the Rings,” was part of the saga and many years later would become immortal in the role of Frodo.

3.- Time traveling was not going to be by car

The DeLorean was not going to be the definitive component that was going to be used for time traveling, since at first, they thought of utilizing a refrigerator, but they worried that the children would want to emulate it, possibly hurt themselves, and for that reason, they gave that idea up.

Ray Bradbury’s story from “A sound of Thunder” was the main inspiration to create this incredible saga.

7.- Daniel Larusso Could Have Been Marty McFly

Everyone will remember Daniel Larusso, the protagonist of the “Karate Kid” saga. He could have been the protagonist of “Back to the Future”, but hwas eliminated in the first selections.

8.- The Film Received 40 Rejections, Among Them Disney

The Back to the Future script, spearheaded by director Robert Zemeckis was rejected a total of 40 times and no film studio wanted to shoot it, even Disney dismissed it.

9.- Star Wars And Star Trek Always Present

As a fan of science fiction, Zemeckis could not avoid making a double reference to two famous sagas of the genres: Star Trek and Star Wars. The scene in which Marty disguises himself as an alien and introduces himself as “Darth Vader from the planet Vulcan” to scare his father, convince him to invite Lorraine to the dance is unforgettable and pays tribute to both franchises.

An atomic explosion was going to allow Marty McFly to return to his present, but the idea of filming this was very expensive, so they had to adjust the story so that everything would change in a flash.
