Authorities from the Texas Department of Public Safety were forced to apologize after they surprised state residents with an unusual emergency alert. Apparently, Glen was allegedly kidnapped by Chucky, the devil doll, local media reports.
The Amber Alert message, a signal used to warn of missing children, was sent three times last Friday, January 29. It claimed that Chucky, a fictional character known as the Killer Doll, had kidnapped his son Glen.
Both the alleged victim and the suspect were described as people with red or auburn hair and blue eyes, and with a height and weight that reflected their proportions in the horror franchise ‘Child’s Play’.
In addition, it was mentioned that Chucky was a 28-year-old man, of the “doll” race, who wore a blue overalls, a long-sleeved shirt with multicolored stripes, and was holding a kitchen knife.
To the surprise of many people and after being questionioned my the media, the authorities apologized and explained:
“Thank you for contacting us. This was actually a test we were running on a dev server and it accidentally went out,” Ruben Medina of DPS said to KPRC 2. “We appreciate you reaching out to us to verify this. We do apologize for this inconvenience (to) you.”
