In an attempt to avoid the same mistakes as in the first 2016 movie, DC hired James Gunn, known for his work in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, on both installments of ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’.
Fans have been patiently waiting to see the first stills of the film since production ended earlier this year and now, finally, it has arrived.
As part of the DC FanDome, behind the scenes of ‘The Suicide Squad’ was released, which serves as a brief preview that gives an idea of what is to come in the next DC Extended Universe (DCEU).
In the video, you can see that Harley Quinn, played by Margot Robbie is the star of the film, but that does not mean that the participation of others is less, new actors to the franchise, such as Idris Elba and John Cena, who seem to be great additions to the team.
Of the original cast, they only bring back, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flagg, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang and Viola Davis as Amanda Waller.
Gunn has chosen to fill his movie with actors and as he says in the trailer he promises that not all will survive, this trailer was released after the director revealed the role, each of the cast would play.
In the video, the director also confirmed that Warner Bros. left him alone to do what he wanted in the movie, and the cast agrees, they made the right decision because the director has done a great job.
The release date for ‘The Suicide Squad’ is August 6, 2021.
