The animation ‘Star Wars: Rebels’ takes place just a few years before ‘A New Hope’, but managed to bring a small reference of Rey, Daisy Ridley in a crucial scene.

Although Rey was introduced to the saga 30 years after the end of the original trilogy in ‘The Force Awakens‘, her presence had already been predicted according to this episode.

In the 4th season of ‘Rebels’, Ezra Bridger discovers that Emperor Palpatine is looking for a portal called A World Between World, which allows access to different times of the past and the future.

When Ezra has access to the portal located at Lothal Jedi Temple, he manages to interfere in a 2nd season event, canonizing time travel in the ‘Star Wars‘ universe.

And one of the most interesting points of the episode, is that Ezra hears voices from different timelines, like Ahsoka Tano, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Yoda… and Rey.

As the padawan walks through the portal, he hears someone say:

“We’ll see each other again. I believe that.”

This is the same phrase that Rey says to Finn, John Boyega in ‘The Force Awakens‘ while her friend lies unconscious, and recovering from injuries caused by Kylo Ren, Adam Driver.

Let’s not forget that the fourth season of ‘Rebels‘ takes place not long before the events of ‘A New Hope’, practically four decades before Rey’s birth.

However, the episode in question was produced by Dave Filoni after the release of Episode VII, which explains why the animation was able to use the audio from the film. That is, it was a purposeful prediction to connect the plot of his productions.

This is a major plot point in all of Sar Wars, which of course, could be used in many ways to influence other events. Many fans believe this ‘Rebels’ attribute will be used to erase the sequel trilogy, we’ll just have to wait and see what the saga of a galaxy far, far away has in store for us.
