Years ago, Disney rejected the filmmaker’s proposals and removed him from the franchise. Following the failure of Episode IX, his return behind the scenes will finally be a reality.
The latest installment of Star Wars, The Rise of Skywalker, which terribly failed, did not appease fans and forced the company to rethink the course of the franchise. Among all the options, the rumors about the return of George Lucas continued to gain momentum on social networks.
According to various media outlets, the creator of the intergalactic saga is eager to develop a new trilogy that serves as a direct sequel to the original story: A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, and The Return of the Jedi.
It should be recollected that George Lucas always wanted to make the seventh, eighth and ninth episode. However, Disney dismissed the ideas he submitted and set him aside from future projects.
Apparently, the filmmaker wanted to explore the scientific aspect of the Force by expanding on the “microbiotic world”. The story would have concentrated on Luke, Leia, han Solo, R2-D2 and C-3PO, but now he will have to find new actors to fill their roles.
All three films would have featured creatures called Whills that feed on the Force and control the universe. According to the creator of the saga, the Whill use humans as containers to move around the world.
It should be noted that these new films will not erase the latest Disney trilogy from continuity, since they will be set in another part of the galaxy. This would mean that all the rumors about eliminating Rey from the official history of Star Wars would be ruled out.
