If you were counting the days to see the new He-Man movie on the big screen, there is bad news on the horizon for you. Sony removed the project called Masters of the Universe from its premiere calendar.
According to Deadline, the studio made a decision to release ‘Uncharted’ on March 5, 2021, but the premiere was originally intended to come out in December this year.
The delay of Uncharted, which is obviously due to unforeseen pr-production problems, pushed the film starring Tom Holland to take the date that was initially planned for He-Man’s new live-action and, instead of finding a new date for the debut of ’Masters of the Universe,’ Sony simply removed it from its calendar.
Does this mean that the He-Man movie is completely canceled? For now, nothing points in that direction but rather it seems that the project starting Noah Centineo will continue to face delays before completion. Anyway, it should be noted that it is rumored that Sony could sell the movie to Netflix, something that would make sense since the streaming platform is already going to release an animated version of the character.
Masters of the Universe will be directed by Adam and Aaron Nee (Band of Robbers) with a screenplay by Art Marcum and Matt Holloway (Iron Man).
