After Avengers: Endgame, Marvel knows that they need several marketing blows to continue being the standard in the superhero cinema. One of their big stakes for 2020 is “The Eternals,” where they will present a new group of characters. For this they have a great cast led by Angelina Jolie (Thena), Richard Madden(Ikaris), Salma Hayek (Ajak), Kumail Nanjiani (Kingo) and Lia McHugh (Sprite).

As we know, Marvel Studios likes to slightly change the origin of the characters in the comics. Thena (Angelina Jolie), is a warrior who comes from ancient Greece and is also one of the most prominent members of The Eternal, a group of immortal heroes who are sent to Earth to defend humans against the terrifying Deviants. Both races were created by The Celestials, very powerful characters that have already been mentioned in the MCU. For now, the plot is secret, but it is speculated that it will be set thousands of years ago and though the characters are immortal, they may match up against with the current heirs of the Earth.
Among all the Marvel movies that have premiered to date, the ones “The Eternals” will most likely resemble will be Guardians of the Galaxy and Captain Marvel. This will expand the cosmic universe and we will know much more about the past. Hopefully, this will bring in Silver Surfer.
“The Eternals” will be released on November 6, 2020 and will be one of the great successes of Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Especially if Angelina Jolie looks as impressive as the Fan Art you see here.
