Prime Video’s new trailer for The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power season three puts the coming struggle front and center. Released on October 21, the official preview runs a little over two minutes, moving from character confrontations in dark woods to fire-lit battle imagery.
According to Prime Video’s official description, the season brings Sauron into his armored form as he pursues greater control over Middle-earth. It also moves Gandalf toward the wizard audiences recognize and Galadriel toward her role as the Lady of Lothlórien.
The largest promise is the forging of the One Ring. That is the season’s stated direction, not a claim that the trailer gives away the entire event. For a story built around the making and misuse of powerful rings, it is a considerable step toward the disaster viewers know is coming.
