‘Game of Thrones’ has finished its final episode with some literal fire and ice. There was no possible ending that would please all the followers, especially after the harsh criticism that it received for this last season.
In previous seasons it was usual to watch a season finale episode that was much calmer, laying the foundations for what was to come in opposition to the habitual overdose of emotions in the penultimate. That is exactly the formula that David Benioff and Dan Weiss have recovered to give this series the final it deserved. Not a perfect one because that is impossible. It is literally impossible to compete with what any viewer has in their own mind. But it was the one that was delivered after all that went down.
