Reports about a Plastic Man movie, one of DC Comics’ funniest heroes, have been around for some time, but it looks like now the project is finally going to get off the ground. Warner Bros. has hired Cat Vasko to write the story and she promises to bring some drastic changes.

It is not known how much of the film’s previous script, written by Amanda Idoko (from the series The Mayor), will be reused. However, according to the Hollywood Reporter website, the hero’s film will feature a female lead.

In the original comic, Plastic Man’s secret identity is Patrick O’Brian – a former gang member who joins the police after an accident with chemical components.

In the film, a new female character will carry the hero’s mantle, therefore, it is possible that the feature will be called “Plastic Woman” to corroborate the alteration, but there is still no official confirmation about it.

Plastic Man is still in the early stages of production, so we won’t be hearing much soon about this funny elongated hero.
