Led by the relentless success of The Mandalorian, the Star Wars universe is gearing up to hit the Disney+ platform with everything. One of the most anticipated productions is the solo series for Obi-Wan Kenobi, which has yet another confirmation in the cast.
According to the Deadline portal, the new crew member of the cast, which features Ewan McGregor in the role of Obi-Wan and Hayden Christensen as Darth Vader, is Indira Varma.
In Game of Thrones, she was Oberyn Martell’s Pedro Pascal’s lover, Ellaria Sand. But for Star Wars, we still have no details on who she will play.
Little is known about the series, but we have confirmation that the story takes place ten years after the events of Star Wars III: Revenge of the Sith. We will finally have a bigger context about the Jedi’s exile on planet Tatooine, not only that, but we will also see him visiting planets unheard of in the franchise. While protecting a young Luke Skywalker, Obi-Wan will need to escape from Jedi hunters.
The director is Deborah Chow, who led two highly praised episodes of The Mandalorian. The recordings are expected to start very soon, as early as next quarter, according to reports from McGregor himself.
Obi-Wan Kenobi should debut at the end of the year, if unforeseen events do not happen affecting the production.
