After revealing a handful of new series for Disney+, Marvel Studios may be hiding a card up its sleeve. According to journalist Charles Murphy, who often has reliable information, a series focused on the hero Nomad is being developed.
On his website, Murphy says the studio has registered the trademark “Marvel Studios Nomad” along with several of the properties recently announced. However, the nature of the project is still not exactly clear.
In the Marvel comics, Captain America changed his appearance and took on the role of Nomad, after being disillusioned with the United States government, discovering that a senior official in the country was actually the leader of the organization known as the Secret Empire. Nomad’s mantle has been worn by several other characters throughout the stories, including Jack Monroe and Steve Rogers’ adopted son Ian Rogers.
In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, one of the hero’s versions appeared with Steve in Avengers: Infinity War. And now that Chris Evans has been confirmed to return, there is little doubt that this character will be introduced as part of the actor’s reemergence into the MCU.
For now, we can only take the news with a grain of salt, and theorize about what a series like this would contribute to the MCU. Is it perhaps a production linked to the events of Falcon and the Winter Soldier? Let us know what you think in the comments of our social accounts.
