Looks like we will finally see him on screen more than just doing cameos. The leader of SHIELD and soon of SWORD, is back in the MCU. Unlike the original Avengers who are beginning to say goodbye to this universe, he will still remain for a long time, since it was revealed that Marvel is working on a new Nick Fury series for Disney +.
For a long time there has been a rumor that Nick Fury would have a solo movie or series and it has finally been confirmed that production is already in the development stage. Therefore, we could soon see Samuel L. Jackson playing the agent again, and it hasn’t been ruled out that he will participate in ‘WandaVision’, considering that SWORD will be part of the series.
According to Variety, Samuel L. Jackson will star in the series, while Kyle Bradstreet has been hired to serve as writer and executive producer of the series. Like all MCU creations, Marvel Studios will be in charge of producing the new program.
This will not be the first time that the character arrives on the small screen, since in 1998, David Hasselhoff, starred in the movie ‘Nick Fury: Agent of Shield’ that was released directly on television and that would serve as a pilot for a series focused on the character, however, Marvel canceled the project. Hasselhoff has expressed his discontent on several occasions for not being chosen to play Fury in the MCU.
Although the details are kept secret, it is a fact that Marvel has already given the green light to the Nick Fury series, hence we hope to get new information about this production soon. It has not been revealed if the story will take place in 90s or today, other characters are also expected to appear in the series, such as Captain Marvel and Maria Hill.
