Abe Forsythe, known for his work in the comedy ‘Little Monsters’, was hired to direct a new sequel to ‘Robocop’.
Forsythe replaces Neil Blomkamp, who left the project in August this year due to scheduling conflicts.
Before leaving the project, Blomkamp revealed on Twitter that the sequel projected to be edited for +18 years audience, stressing that the plot would bring “a lot of irony and explosions”.
The script has been assigned to Justin Rhodes, based on a primary draft made by the writers of the 1987 classic, Edward Neumeier and Michael Miner.
The unfortunate news is that film will not feature the star of the original saga, actor Peter Weller.
Even at the age of 71, many people believed that the actor would return to the role due to technological advances in computer graphics, but according to the Super Bro Movies website who contacted the actor’s representatives, none of this will happen. Peter Weller simply has no interest in portraying the cyborg cop again. This is a big surprise for fans who saw him make a comeback in ‘Star Trek Into Darkness.’
