The new series of the Warner Brothers classic Animaniacs is relatively close to premiering. Today they released the first trailer of the series in the style of Jurassic Park with Sam Neil, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum and Steven Spielberg: a recreation of the scene when scientists see dinosaurs for the first time. In the trailer, the animated the famous producer assures that this will not be a retmboot of the animated series from the 90s.
The best part is Pinky and the Brain are also returning.
Animaniacs was a species believed to be extinct since we saw its last episodes in 1998 and, as the animated version of Laura Dern points out in the trailer, “they had not been seen on TV since the golden age of animation.” The Yakko brothers, Wakko and Dot have returned.
It’s been more than two decades since the Warner Brothers cartoon went off the air. This revival now brings new episodes that promise to be as good as the originals, but with more modern and updated animation. The series also returns with characters that we saw in the 90s episodes, including Pinky and the Brain: another of the most valuable animated series from the 90s, in which two genetically modified mice try to conquer the world.
So far we know that the original voices of the series will return to these new episodes together with its executive producer, Steven Spielberg. There are two confirmed seasons so far: the second to premiere sometime next year on the same platform. In 2020, we will be able to see the new series of Animaniacs streaming on Hulu November 20.
