Sony’s adaptation of Metal Gear Solid is finally taking shape. According to Deadline, Oscar Isaac was cast to play Solid Snake in the film.
The adaptation is led by Jordan Vogt-Roberts, who, in addition to developing the project with Sony Pictures, will also assume the director’s chair. The film will be based on the game created by Hideo Kojima, released by Konami for the PlayStation in 1987. The script is by Derek Connolly and the production includes Peter Kang.
In Metal Gear Solid, we follow the story of Snake, a soldier who infiltrates a nuclear weapons unit to neutralize terrorist threats. The game conquered a legion of fans and was critically acclaimed, precisely for having a story that brought a more intense vibe to the cinemas.
The media Deadline speculates that, due to the busy schedule of Isaac, the film’s production is still far from starting. This announcement, however, is a great indication that the project is finally formulating.
