The third installment of Spider-Man within the Marvel Cinematic Universe is currently in production, and of course, it is expected to be one of the most important films of the MCU with a large number of heroes and villains from the past. But apparently, these characters will not just be showing up as a cameo, they have an important role within the franchise and one of them is the first interpretation of Green Goblin, since, according to some sources, Willem Dafoe will continue on as Norman Osborn in the MCU.
Actor Willem Dafoe appeared as Norman Osborn in the first installment of ‘Spider-Man’ starring Tobey Maguire, directed by Sam Raimi, which became one of the most important films of the character. Now it seems as though this film will just as critical to the MCU, as we will see these two actors back in the movie narrative of the arachnid.
According to information from Daniel Richtman, there are already plans for the character, Green Goblin, since apparently, Willem Dafoe will be Norman Osborn for the MCU, returning to this role, from now on, within the continuity of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Although so far, it is not confirmed if he will be in the third installment of Spiderman, his appearance is definitively for a new installment, perhaps being the villain for a fourth film.
So far it is known that we will see the return of Tobey Maguire and JK Simmons to the roles of Peter Parker and J. Jonah Jameson, in addition to Alfred Molina playing Doc Ock, all of them from the Sam Raimi trilogy, in addition to others villains from Andrew Garfield’s movies, being one of the most important films not only in the MCU, but in the superhero genre.
