The series based on the books from writer Andrzej Sapkowski has a Netflix show with renowned actors who have placed all of their passion into this project. One of the many questions asked is how was the relationship between them? Was there a fight of egos or rivalries? One of these questions was answered by Joey Batey who talked about his encounter with Henry Cavill on the set of ‘The Witcher’.

Batey was the one who embodied Jaskier, the bard who tells the stories of Geralt de Rivia with his catchy tunes like ‘Toss a Coin to Your Witcher’, in addition to being the closest friend of the protagonist.

So obviously Cavill and Batey shared a lot of scenes together, their relationship as friends was greater than most on the set. According to an interview given by the 27 year old actor for ComicBook.

“Within the first couple of minutes of meeting him, we were in fits of giggles,” Batey confessed. “I don’t want to dispel any of the magic of Henry Cavill, but he’s a total goofball and I publicly love him. We make each other laugh, we have a very similar sense of humor quite a lot of the time.”

“I’d love to see the blooper reel of this show one day, because we’re constantly making each other laugh, which is difficult, because obviously Henry’s playing a very gruff character that’s not supposed to smile very much,” Batey explained. “And so, when he breaks, that’s my favorite thing. If I can get Henry to laugh unintentionally, I have won. Still, filming every scene with Henry was a joy.”

This is the kind of relationship goals we aspire to have in the workplace. Joey Batey and Henry Cavill are probably the ideal partnership we want to keep seeing in ‘The Witcher’, hopefully we’ll hear what the protagonist has to say about how it was to work with Jaskier. Maybe we just need to toss a coin to him to get him to talk.
