After a long wait, Spider-Man 3 is finally taking shape as production begins. Now, according to The Hollywood Reporter, Benedict Cumberbatch, Doctor Strange, will be in the film.
The third installment of Spidey will become one of the biggest events in the MCU, since in addition to confirming the presence of Electro, it has been revealed that Doctor Strange will appear in ‘Spider-Man 3’, so it is highly likely that the film introduces the ‘Spider-Verse’, something fans have been waiting for a long time.
Since Jamie Foxx’s return as Electro was confirmed, several reports have emerged that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield will also be part of the new Spider-Man installment in the MCU and the presence of Doctor Strange would confirm it, since the sorcerer supreme would be the key for these two versions to enter the MCU timeline.
According to the HR, Doctor Strange will be the new mentor of Peter Parker, taking over the place that previously belonged to Iron Man and that, in Spider-Man: Far from Home, was occupied by Talos posing as Nick Fury.
It is worth mentioning that, soon, Cumberbatch will start filming Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness, a film that will feature Scarlet Witch and should further expand the MCU.
Further details on Doctor Strange’s presence in the film were not revealed. Both Marvel and Sony declined to comment on information from The Hollywood Reporter.
