It’s almost time for the release of the first ‘MK’ live-action trailer, however, just before that, Warner Bros has some surprises in store for fans of the saga, as it was revealed this week that actress Mel Jarnson will partake in the reboot of ‘Mortal Kombat’, who had not previously been confirmed.

According to a report from Comicbook.com, and the IMDb portal, where production information for most films is found, have recently added the name of said actress in the cast list of the adaptation of ‘Mortal Kombat’, however, this medium is sometimes mistaken along with rumors on the internet about the actors who will participate in these feature films or even, the release dates.

Although Mel Jarnson could be in the reboot of ‘Mortal Kombat’, it has not yet been revealed which character she will play in said film, however, Comicbook.com points out that the actress could embody Kitana, a warrior who appeared for the first time in the ‘Mortal Kombat II’ game from 1993, who became a popular female character.

Kitana also appeared in the first MK movie of 1995, played by Talisa Soto, so seeing her again in the reboot of the saga is a possibility. So far, the characters who have been revealed are Sonya Blade, Raiden, Liu Kang, Kano, Scorpion, Sub Zero, Shang Tsung, Nitara, Kung Lai, Mileena and Kabal.

Currently, the reboot of ‘Mortal Kombat’ will be released on April 16, 2021, however, due to the coronavirus pandemic, it is scheduled to simultaneously launch in theaters and on the HBO Max platform, since Warner Bros is attempting not to have serious economic loss, although this system has already been criticized by several filmmakers.
